Cavo is the newest neighbourhood café and wine bar at the heart of The Cocoa Works, nestled in the William Sutton Pavilion. A welcoming space for residents, local businesses and neighbours to come together and enjoy. This latest venture blends the industrial charm of the venue with a contemporary dining experience, where guests can enjoy both familiar and new culinary creations.

The café features a thoughtfully crafted menu that includes fresh pastries, delicious coffee, breakfast favourites, small plates and rotisserie piri-piri chicken – all sourced from local suppliers such as Little Arras and Field & Fawcett. Whether you want a quick coffee or to meet up with friends, Cavo is the perfect spot.

Founded by hospitality experts Ted and Emma, who bring a wealth of experience in hospitality, food and wine. They have a deep commitment to quality and a shared passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.

Ted is the owner of Frango Eduardo, specialising in Portuguese-inspired food and events, and Tasca Frango, a restaurant in the heart of York known for its small plates and cosy vibes. Emma has extensive knowledge of wines, spirits and cocktails and has worked in a number of high-end establishments in the area. Together they have built a reputation for creating inviting dining experiences that appeal to both locals and visitors to York alike and have opened several establishments in York.
